PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION "If a man is not familiar with the BIBLE, he has suffered a loss which he had better make all possible haste to correct. A thorough knowledge of the BIBLE is worth more than a college education." (Theodore Roosevelt) There is twofold purposes of CBDC, first one is: It is the purpose of CBDC to contribute to the development of our students in the areas of Christian character, academic skills, subject mastery, Biblical understanding, and practical wisdom. We believe that Christian character and practical wisdom are best achieved through cooperative efforts with local church, and to this end we offer unique Bible college program. Academic skills and subject mastery are accomplished through clear explanation and responsive repetition, such as that found in our workbooks. There is no beneficial understanding apart from a Biblical understanding (Eph.4:17-24). Our entire curriculum is written from a Biblical view point. We firmly believe that conclusions about life and reality must be based on the Word of God above all other experience and research. "We believe that study method should be individual ([You] study thyself approved unto God…), and if all possible, directed by the pastor/teacher" (II Timothy 2:15, 2). The second purpose of this college is to train soul-winning Christian leaders. In order to accomplish this goal we are providing the finest in academic curriculum, as well as varied opportunities of Christian service through the ministries of Hampshire View Baptist Deaf Church. Our faculty and staff set the pace and example in soul-winning. Every student is trained to carry out the Great Commission through the local church. As a student of Capital Baptist Deaf College you will be taught to win the lost, walk the aisle with the convert for baptism, and teach them to observe the commandments of our Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Words which was written in the Bible. Our graduates are proven soul-winners with a Bible knowledge which personifies the New Testament example of a Christian. Capital Baptist Deaf College will not be satisfied to produce Bible scholars with little or no zeal for souls of men, but believes Bible college graduates can have the best of academics and the heartbeat of a soul-winner. We believed the product of higher education should be Christian servant, skilled in the Word of God, trained in an area of service, and able to effectively utilize his education to the glory of God.
