American Cities Population Report

AMERICAN CITIES POPULATION

CBDC have a vision to establish one fifty hundred Deaf Churches in America. Only two percent of the 6.5 million Deaf people in the world are Christians. Since 1950, several missionary organizations started almost a thousand Deaf ministries in America. However, many ministries have closed down and few that survived usually could not grow beyond an average attendance of eight Deaf people.

It is time to start planting Deaf Churches in America. The purpose of this information is to encourage pastors & church planters to start Deaf churches in the big cities first. It is a great biblical strategy to establish churches in big cities because of a greater harvest. We believe that the churches in large cities will eventually plant churches in the smaller cities. Paul established churches in Lystra, Paphos, Ephesus, Troas, Philippi, Thessalonica, Athens, and Corinth, which all are strategic locations – commercial centers, political centers, and military centers. It is wiser to start a school and bible college in big cities instead of smaller cities. Many Deaf people tend to live in big cities due to better job and social opportunities.

We ask you to pray about strategic locations and be willing to accept greater challenges the big cities offer. Keep in mind that greater challenges can result in a richer harvest. Some of the cities on the list already have a Deaf Church so we encourage you to search, of course accordingly to God’s will, for locations that do not have any Deaf church or even Deaf ministries.

Clarification: This estimate is based on the general (hearing) population because there are no proper methods to determine the exact numbers of Deaf community. This estimate is limited to city population only because metropolitan estimates often vary and may be confusing.
