Dear Prospective Friend,
It is our vision to establish more than 150 churches for the Deaf in the United States of America. Did
you know that before oralism era appeared, there were many Deaf churches prospering in America? But most of
that has been lost, there is no reliable information as to how many Deaf churches there were before oralism era.
In the dawn of 21st century an era where equality is empowered, there are less than 100 churches for the Deaf
(including all denominations) in America. It is the equivalent of having 100,000 Deaf people per one Deaf Church!
It is an unfortunate legacy of oralism era.
We strongly believe we will be able to fill that spiritual void in the Deaf community because of our potential
such as our location near Gallaudet University and strong connections to Deaf communities. We have been recognized by
Maryland Higher Education Commission to operate as a religious degree granting institution and approved by Immigrant &
Naturalization Service to grant 1-20 VISA as F-1 school. All of our faculty are Deaf and qualified to provide spiritual
instruction to the students to set proper foundation of strong Deaf churches.
We would like to provide you an opportunity to consider sending us contribution to support our several programs:
Frank Isaiah Laurent is from Tanzania, a country overwhelmed with poverty and refugees from the other countries.
One U.S. Dollar translates to $1,000 Tanzania dollars. His burden is to go back to his country to set up Deaf churches.
He represents our eager International students studying at our college who need scholarship assistance.
We have the best source of prospects but limited resources to capitalize on the opportunities. Our location near Gallaudet
University & two Deaf State Schools numbers a source of 3,000 Deaf students! Our growing student body needs bigger
space so our greatest needs are dorm and classrooms. It is our philosophy to produce educated and qualified spiritual
workers, not 'assembly line' workers.
Eric Gunther grew up in Long Island, New York without setting his foot into a Deaf Church until he was twenty years
old. He represents our high potential young crop of Deaf students studying to be future spiritual leaders of Deaf
community. We have the one of largest pastoral studies major Deaf student body in America. It is a very exciting time
for us all! If you would like to give a tax deductible gift to help us with many opportunities, please send to
Capital Baptist Deaf College, 360 Ednor Road Silver Spring MD 20905 or contact us for a personal visit at our campus at
HVBDC @ aol.com or (301) 242-9039. God bless you for reading this webpage.
